Bolton - A Safe Neighbourhood

B olton - A Safe Neighbourhood My Bolton neighbourhood is considered a safe place to live.    My experience to support this is evident by observing my neighbours who live on my street, the infrastructure of the town, the facilities, and the community at large. As I walk through my neighbourhood, the number of parks and hiking trails for everyone to enjoy are real positives.    Parks, to me, symbolize safety as they involve children, adults, the elderly and the youth coming together to enjoy the outdoors.    To share more about my neighbourhood, the street I live on is adjacent to R.J.A. Potts Memorial Park.    I don’t know much about R.J.A. Potts; however, I do know that this park has a lot to offer and is a safe place which is obvious from the amo...

Accident In Bolton - Senior Citizen

Senior Citizen Scooter Accident In Bolton This is a story about my mother, Helen, who lives in the neighbourhood of Bolton and had a frightening experience while driving her scooter on Highway 50.  Highway 50 is the main road that runs through Bolton.  It is the busiest road within the town and has the highest number of accidents. My mother was coming home from my sister's house which resides in the north end of Bolton.  Her drive is approximately 10 minutes long when traveling from my sister's place to her own home. On this day, while driving, she was motoring along, and suddenly came upon a huge pothole.  Her scooter went into the pothole and buckled which caused my mother, who was 74 years old at the time, to fall off the scooter.  The good news is that my mother was not hurt badly, and from this experience, she decided to only drive her car going forward.
